I live in NY and see a lot of international marriages. I can tel you for sure that the general attitude to foreign marriage in America is open minded, tolerant and positive. Unfortunately in many countries, the population still are narrow minded, pessimistic and negative about it. They said that husband would never completely understand you, you'd have arguments all the time and it seems impossible. A lot of people think it'd be better if you marry somebody who's more similar, who you can communicate with. It would be much safer for future family. In my opinion people from different countries can and do have successful marriages and I see mixed couples all the time. What advice would you give somebody considering an international marriage? How would you feel if your daughter/son wanted to marry somebody from other country?
