Why is Society so competitive?

Dear friends, why is society so competitive nowadays? People talk about equal opportunities, but in fact, men have all the power. In many jobs, they can even get away with discrimination of female employees and all kind of sexist comments. I think that's partly because some women want to have career in occupations more suited to men. We should accept that we are genetically different. There is very little quota in jobs that are more conditioned for women. Even in most of those jobs, a higher percentage of managers are men. Guys, do you think men and women should be treated equally? Why? And how much sexual hatred is there at work?
